Andres Conesa, CEO of Aeromexico, Mexico’s largest transcontinental airline, announced several innovations, products and customer services at the Tianguis Turistico tourist fair in Acapulco. These are in addition to Aeromexico’s recent announcement to launch its new Aeromexico 2.0 digital platform, its alliance with Sabre Airline Solutions to start operating the newest and most modern reservations system for travel agencies, and the fresh cabin crew uniforms the airline featured at the DFashion show.

The announced innovations include shoring up service offerings to the airline’s predominant domestic destinations through the “Voy Vuelvo” (there and back again in one day) concept the airline is implementing to strengthen its presence in the Mexican Southeastern and Gulf regions with connecting flights through Veracruz; consolidation of the airlines’ presence in its strong U.S. markets with the scheduling of red eye flights; supplementary markets to feed the Guadalajara, Monterrey and Hermosillo hubs, and standardization of flight connection transit times to guarantee reliability of the airline’s on time performance.

Andres Conesa said: “We will offer more than 1,300 weekly flights to Voy Vuelvo destinations with 200 additional weekly round-trip flights to key destinations, such as Acapulco, Bajio, Cancun, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Culiacan, Guadalajara, Merida, Monterrey, Tampico, Veracruz, Villahermosa and Zihuatanejo in Mexico, and to international destinations, such as Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and New York. Thus, Grupo Aeromexico total network service will grow from 1,700 to 1,900 weekly round-trip flights”.

Aeromexico also announced its new “AEROMEXICO PLUS” product, a new class of service between the Clase Premier and Economy class cabins that includes the sale of preferential seats located in the two front rows on the airline's next generation Boeing 737 aircraft. Aeromexico Plus passengers will be entitled to preferred boarding and customer services at Clase Premier check-in counters, and many other important benefits.

The airline’s digital media reinforcement program will now allow international passengers to accesses Aeromexico flight information through the Orbitz, Expedia and Travelocity websites, thanks to the airline’s 2009 sales levels, while offerings on the new aeromexico.com website now feature the Fare Families concept passengers can use to compare different fares and features.

The Aeromexico CEO added: “All of these new products and services are framed within our new image campaign titled, “WHEREVER YOUR DREAMS TAKE YOU”, a concept that is based on the fact that we believe trips are more than simple travel from one destination to another. Trips are full of dreams and excitement, regardless of whether your travels are based on leisure, family or business needs. Passengers on each segment have a dream, and passengers and dreams are two causes that drive and inspire Aeromexico.”

The CEO also mentioned the agreement the airline recently signed with Groupe Aeroplan -an international leader in loyalty programs based in Canada-, through which Aeroplan will purchase minority shares in Aeromexico’s Club Premier frequent flyer program.

One of the major benefits Club Premier Members will immediately start to notice as a result of this alliance is the segmentation and speed of the messages, emails and communications they receive from the airline that will offer greater flexibility in designing and implementing valuable promotions.

Andres Conesa closed his announcement saying: “Forthcoming changes in the Club Premier Program will offer greater availability of award ticket seats on Aeromexico, growing possibilities for Club Premier Members to be able to redeem their Premier Kilometers or Miles for free travel, thus further enhancing the value of each Kilometer or Mile they accrue. I know passengers will be delighted with these changes that will continue to position Club Premier as the most attractive loyalty program in Mexico”.

Some of the changes made to the Club Premier program will allow passengers to redeem their Premier Miles or Kilometers for travel on the entire modern Aeromexico fleet as of June 1, 2010, as they will no longer be limited to date, class or seat restrictions. The number of Premier Miles or Kilometers required for redemption purposes will be determined at the time Club Premier Members finalize their individual transactions.

Thus, Aeromexico reaffirms its position as the major airline in Mexico, which leads the domestic market, offers the largest number of long-range flights, and is the only airline in Latin America to serve three continents.
